Lifer Records
Collection of Collections created a visual identity for Lifer Records, a collection of oral history interviews with people who have experienced long-term incarceration in the state of California. This project allows lifers to take ownership over their narratives, provide information for researchers, and as a space for advocacy.
We designed a logo, brand colors, type system, infographics, and provided creative direction for the website.
We begin each project with research. Our client emphasized the importance of having a visual identity reflecting the 1970’s. This was the decade many interviewees had been incarcerated. Based on their feedback, many said they remember these images as what their worlds looked like before.
